And this time, I have chosen a beauty! I've always been a fan of Santana's work: no one can play and seduce a guitar like he does. But his 1999 collaboration with Rob Thomas, the frontman of Matchbox Twenty, was quite the odd love affair. And even though the pairing may have seemed bizarre at first, they struck musical gold with their duet "Smooth".
This jam still get's me groovin' to this day! Rob's raw vocals mixed with Santana's manipulation of the guitar and those smooth exotic rhythms make one perfect song! Once it starts playing, I'll be humming or singing it for the rest of the day!
Plus, those lyrics are EVERYTHING!
Just like the ocean, under the moon.
It's the same as the emotion that I get from you.
You got that kind of loving that can be so smooth, yeah.
Give me your heart, make it real.
Or else forget about it!
Ouch! Well played sir, well played! Get's me everytime :)
