Remember the time when Jamaican badboy Shaggy was creeping with the girl the next door, but claiming it wasn't him? Well, after that he still had some hits, but his star has slowly faded away since. He still kept performing around the world though, and now he has teamed up with Mohombi, Faydee & Costi for the fresh and summery single "Habibi (I Need Your Love)". It's nice having Mr Lovah Lovah back in the game and this track really had me shaking from the start! And even though these artists come from different backgrounds (reggae, latin, arabian style music), these boys fit together like glue. The song evokes amazing summer vibes (cue the video shot on a luxurious yacht in Valencia) and the chorus is instantly catchy. Big ups to Faydee though, since he's the one basically carrying the track. But either way, with some good promotion on their part, they may have a big hit on their hands. Watch the video below. |

We're halfway through the week and my legs are already preparing themselves for a weekend full of party fun! That's why the music in today's post is pretty dancefloor worthy. And as any good dancer would, I'm going to build it up slow, gather some momentum and then go H.A.M. ! For the warm-up I've chosen this Lana Del Rey song that just found it's way online. If Lana Del Rey has even one merciful bone in her body, she'll release her sophomore album "Ultraviolence" like STAT, ASAP, NOW! Because I am dying to hear what kind of musical deliciousness she has in store for us this time around. The song below has leaked online, which means it probably didn't make it onto the new record. Pity, since it's quite upbeat and fun. Not something you'd associate with her usual drowzy sounds. But this tune gives a surprisingly new spin to things. It even sounds, dare I say it, a bit disco! Just imagine if the robots of Daft Punk were the masterminds behind this gem. Oh my! Update: Lana Del Rey has just confirmed on her Twitter that this track is something she wrote for somebody else 4 years ago! There will be a new single, though, called 'West Coast". Listen to "Meet Me In The Pale Moonlight" below. Now that we're all warmed up and doing the Funky Chicken on a disco illuminated dancefloor, it's time to really get things moving!
