LA songstress BANKS is gaining popularity fast and she knows it! Her music has tapped into a genre hardly ever heard before and she seems pretty keen on sharing even more sounds with us. She released the stunning half danceable track "Beggin For Thread" just last week and now the video has hit the internet as well. And it's spooky! The haunting video has the slightest hint of Tim Burton, as it brings a Corpse Bride-like vibe to mind. It's shot entirely in black and white and features BANKS seductively crooning into the camera, surrounded by an arsenal of perfectly chiseled male dancers. Not only is there an abundancy of divine abs, the white stallion is a nice touch too. Watch below. |

A lot of great artists have come forward through BBC's Sound of 2014 (e.g. Sam Smith, George Ezra and Ella Eyre) and yet another nominee is proving that she's here to stay! BANKS is a pretty mysterious LA-based singer-songwriter: I have no idea how old she is and her management runs all her social media. She does hand out her personal phonenumber on Facebook, though. ^^ So, little is known about her, but what we do know is that her debut album titled "Goddess" is set for release on September 9th and she has already premiered the titletrack! It's a smooth, loungy kind of number, perfect for those chill lonely nights at home. For those of you expecting a song with a big climax, don't, because there isn't any. The beats and track itself are soo hypnotizing through BANKS' sweet and delicate voice, the background chants and the Timbaland-like arrangement. The perfect song to just forget about your worries for a moment and escape to a faraway land. So grab a glass of wine, sit back, relax and watch the lyric video below. |
