Ricky Martin is one hot tamale and still commands the Latin pop sound like no other. Even though he's not living la vida loca anymore (that's probably hard to do with those cute twin boys at home), he's still working hard on what's going to be his 10th (!) studioalbum. So since 10 is a pretty special number, Ricky decided to up the ante for his new single "Adios". Not only will the track be released in English, but in Spanish and French as well. And after the first listen, my preference goes out to the Spanish version (obviously), plus I was pretty surprised to discover that the song explores a rather different side of Ricky. It still stays true to his exotic and Latin roots, but leans more towards bachatta-ish sounds. I can see this being played all over Miami with people getting their salsa on in the middle of the street. Plus, how GOOD does he look in that suit for the cover art? That smolder, the smirk! That's some Latin Michael Bublé flavour right there! Listen to all three versions below. |
