For starters, I have been waiting for this official audio ever since Jason Derulo performed it during his concert in February. I'm talking about his new banger "Wiggle" featuring Snoop Dogg (or Lion or Cat or whatever his name is these days).
The saxophone sample of Balkan Beat Box that made "Talk Dirty" such a hit, is replaced by a flute type of sound which works just as well! No idea what instrument it is or if it's just a Peruvian sherpa playing the panflute. But whatever it is, it's banging and sexy and all the awesome adjectives in the world!
And let me play that devil's advocate here for a minute: I'm a HUGE Chris Brown fan, but to me, Jason has really taken over his place in the music industry right now! He's making smooth R&B for the masses, not talking about hoes and bitches and what not. He can sing, he can dance (those abs!) and you KNOW he's never ever going to beat his girlfriend up. (jeeeej for Jordin Sparks!)
So, way to go, Jason! And let me see that wiggle, wiggle! ;)

It's been a rough couple of months for Dutch duo Bingo Players: after Paul Baümer was diagnosed with cancer (and ultimately passed away in December 2013), Maarten Hoogstraten was left on his own. But now Hoogstraten has decided to keep making music under the Bingo Players name, as a way to pay tribute and honor his friend. Now the first single in this solo project, "Knock You Out" has hit the airwaves and my god, I was absolutely knocked out after hearing this! Maarten clearly put all his energy, grief and love for Paul into this song! They still wrote it together, but he had to finish it after Paul's passing. It's an exploding dance anthem with a superbe production and the chorus sticks like glue, even after the first listen. The vocals were provided by Kim Viera, a relatively unknown singer, but she does sound great. I don't know about you, but I'm pretty sure this track is going to soar to the top of the charts. Mark my words! UPDATE: the track now has a music video too! It takes an unexpected gritty approach by telling the story of a young woman that escapes her abusive relationship. Domestic violence remains a hard subject to talk about, especially when the song itself is quite upbeat. But don’t worry, there’s a happy ending! Watch the video below! |
