Sinead O'Connor has been flying waaaay under the press radar for many years, and if she does make the media it's got nothing to do with her music. Remember the multiple reports about her nervous breakdowns and the infamous open letters to Miley Cyrus that circulated last year? But after all these struggles with bipolar disorder and what not, the Irish singer is planning to make her return to music, 24 years after the massive Prince-penned hit "Nothing Compares 2 U". At least her comeback single "Take Me To Church" sounds very promising. I hope I'm not the only one seeing the irony here though, since she once tore apart a picture of the Pope and that she was ordained a priest, which got her kicked out of the Catholic Church! Either way, seems like this first single of her new LP "I'm Not Bossy, I'm The Boss" (out on August 12th), has her coming clean with all that's happened in her past. The video for the track is a pretty colourful, happy walk down memory lane : since in the first minute of the clip, she's singing under a projection of that iconic "Nothing Compares 2 U" visual! For the rest of the video, she rocks out with her band before dramatically ripping off her redheaded wig. Is this Sinead's long awaited successfull comeback? Let me know in the comment section. |
