After J-Lo's "First Love" and Nicole Scherzinger's "Your Love", there is yet another singer using the L-word in a song. Ex-X Factor (hah!) Judge Cheryl Cole is really on trend with this one: not only is "love" prominently featured in the track, it also uses another popular music gimmick, namely a saxophone! A little late in my opinion, since Macklemore, Jason Derulo and recently Ariana Grande, have all done it before her. But I digress :) "Crazy Stupid Love" is rumoured to be the first single of a new album with a still unknown title. And Cole could sure use another hit, because let's face it, since "Fight For This Love" she hasn't really done anything relevant in music, besides her X-Factor stint. |
But THE very first thing that came to mind was a tune some Vegas Showgirl would sing during a late night show. I can totally picture the music video looking something like that, with Cheryl wearing a sparkly, revealing costume with lots of feathers.
And what truly bothers me about the lyric video: there's not one saxophone to be seen! The sax solo seems to come out of a trumpet! Someone clearly wasn't paying attention during their music lessons....
