The world has just about had enough of all these singing competitions, but you have to admit they gave us some amazing new artists over these last couple of years. X Factor UK has given us Leona Lewis, Alexandra Burke, Little Mix and James Arthur. The X Factor version in the United States however, didn't do as well as its British counterpart. All the US winners are supertalented, but out of all the seasons, only one girl group stood out : Fifth Harmony. And they didn't even win! It's hard to believe these girls only came in third on their season. After the show ended, their fanbase exploded and just like Little Mix in the UK, these girls are representing for all the women, everywhere in the world. Their latest single "Bo$$" definitely screams Destiny's Child 2.0 : it's an uplifting anthem for the working woman, promoting confidence (by literally spelling it out) and Michelle Obama making Oprah dollars. The track is really in your face with a killer 808 beat and catchy finger snaps à la Jason Derulo. Simon Cowell's gut feeling was right once again when he picked those girls out of thousands of contestants. I guess girl groups are really back in style now! UPDATE: I've added the music video just now! Watch the ladies get all sexaaay in the visual below. |
