Just like many others out there, I too was heavily struck by the events that went down at Pulse in Orlando, Florida. And if there's one thing I've learned throughout my, albeit still young, life, it's that the power of music is able to at least soothe some of the pain, anger and powerlessness we all feel. One of my favourite singers ever, Mrs. Christina Aguilera, has now dropped a new song that expresses exactly how I, and many others with me, feel right now. Time for a "Change".
Basically, it all comes down to this single line :
Who you love or the color of your skin,
or the place that you were born and grew up in,
shouldn’t decide how you will be treated
Indeed some very poignant words sung by Aguilera in her newest song "Change", which was a surprise release at midnight US time today. The slow ballad is dedicated to the victims of the Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando and reminds us of exactly how much we need to reunite for a better tomorrow.
"Change" will pull on every inch of your heartstrings and goes to show how vocally talented Aguilera is, even when she's just singing the simplest notes. As a supportive gesture, the pop star is giving away all the proceeds of this song to benefit the families of those lost and injured in the Orlando massacre.
